Responsibilities

This position is a 70:30 extension / research split appointment in agronomy and weed science disciplines for cotton and peanuts. Extension efforts include serving as a leader of cotton and peanut extension efforts in Virginia with respect to my disciplines and other faculty working with these commodities. This includes various extension activities including organizing and conducting VCE agent updates, editing cotton and peanut production guides, serving as contributor/author of sections in Agricultural Plant Pest Control Guide and Pest Management Guide, authoring various VCE publications, serving as advisor / ex-officio member on cotton and peanut commodity boards, and presenting research based information at field days, county meetings, and industry grower meetings. Research activities include securing external funding to conduct research trials, training graduate students, and publishing results in refereed manuscript form.
