Development and implementation of IPM practices for insect pests of cotton, peanut, soybean and small grains, with special emphasis on control tactics, pest advisories, yield impact studies, and pest/host plant relationships. Current studies focus on barley yellow dwarf and aphid management in wheat; early season thrips movment, speciation and management in cotton and peanuts; management of soil pests of peanut; advisories for management of lepidopterous pests in soybean and cotton; and ovicidal and residual efficacy of acaricides against twospotted spider mite in peanut. This program has strong interaction with extension agents, growers, and includes graduate training.
