My Extension and research program may be divided into three major areas of emphasis: greenhouse production of tobacco transplants, conservation tillage systems for flue-cured tobacco production, and tobacco agronomic practices and alternative management systems. Each of the program areas listed have either a direct impact on the profitability of tobacco production and the quality of tobacco production in Virginia or address anticipated future needs. Extension programming is directed to Extension agents and producers while research projects are generally of an applied nature in support of Extension program needs.
